I miss my tables...
Posted @ 00:08
For once (and only once), I can see a point for a *total* domination of IE in the web browser market. I really hate this 'multi browser compatibility' business. First, although I have semi fixed the blog pages, I just found out that one sees a random brown bar at the end of every post when using firefox (and therefore I guess this would happen in safari too). For some reason, the java script used to hide the comments is not exactly buddies with the tableless structure. I think I'll need to spend some more time working on it - by that I mean trial and error.
So yes, at the moment, only IE will render everything as intended. The only exception is of course my logo on the side bar (on the index page), which is supposed to be a PNG with a transparent background. The trade-off of having to put up with the random bar in firefox is that it renders transparent PNG properly.

Anyway, with the IE PNG problem, there's a solution which allows you to add one line to your HTML and a JS file to solve it.
HAve a look at the source on my homepage and look for the pngfix.js line.
